The Kim Jones x Converse Chuck 70 Utility Wave Hi “Black” is a collaboration between the famed luxury designer and Converse on the classic high-top shoe. Released by Converse in April 2021, the Kim Jones-designed Chuck 70 Utility Wave Hi gives the venerable lifestyle shoe a rugged new look that leans heavily on the designer’s high fashion influence. A black TPU overlay is layered over the tonal canvas base for added stability. Translucent “clips” appear along the eyelets and assist in supporting the design of the thick rope shoelaces. Embroidered “Kim Jones” branding appears on the black canvas tongue and classic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star detailing on the medial side of the collar. Jones adds a wavy rubber overlay above the cream colored vulcanized midsole to create a “stacking” effect with the design of the midsole. Old school Converse branding on the license plate on the heel completes the look. Release date: April 8, 2021.
